A vain attempt at making one feel better about themselves.
You'd feel all rotten inside, and yet you still put up a front, you smile, and you say "I'm happy that you're happy" I applaud you for it takes guts to not just spill it all out and tell that particular someone how you REALLY feel.
Bugger...
