Looking back at my SPM scores, I should’ve been placed in UiTM Shah Alam in the pre-law fast track program…
Just wondering what it would’ve been like if I were to have received a place in Shah Alam…
And I’m sincerely hoping people would start acting their age…
Ah well…
Managed to get decent scores for Introduction to Law 1 test… like I said… decent… shouldn’t complaining I suppose
Went to kaki seni to check the regular auditions being held back in KL… I miss being someone else on stage… sucks as all hell to know how much I’m missing
Still hoping people would start acting their age… Or maybe I just grew up too fast…
Anyone can act, even actors; and you can do theatre anywhere, even in theatres
Seriously… We need a good revamp on which how education in Malaysia is approached… Basically everyone regardless whether or not they knew this confident (some say arrogant and I say semantics) has more than a rough idea on my views on the Malaysian Education System and I’m still surprised the ISA has yet to catch up with me :P
And Theng got a dose of resentments towards the system alongside Ilianna when they asked for help with their Malaysian Studies project :P
So this is what I think what Malaysians need to know
1)Which side of the escalator to stand on
2)How to get on and off trains
3)Magic word usage (i.e. thank you / please)
4)The true reason to which signal lights are fixed upon motor vehicles
5)The virtues of picking up a book and reading it
6)Techniques on how express themselves via a very much less-destructive medium

KL's Best Script 2007 - Written byyours trulyedited byMarvin Wong inspired by the rest of the team
KL Champions 2007 - Saint John's Institution
High expectations on the 15 of you... and this is all I have to say...
This is the post many have been waiting for… my bloody SPM results eh???
So ya, I scored an 8 outta 12 A’s which in my opinion kicked ass seeing as how much fooling around I did last year :P and that for some reason convinced my parents that they ought to reward me... so yes, I somehow convinced them to buy me a laptop... and I convinced them to get me a MacBook...
So now WHY A MACBOOK?
Politically correct answer :Its a powerful machine and i just love OS X
The real answer is : Its sleek and shiny... I like... (now I sound like Jean :P)
I have decided to not help the drama team with any script preparation this year… The politically correct answer for me to give is that its meant to be a ground for students to learn how to express themselves through theatre but we all know that’s just bullshit… the main reason is that I just couldn’t care less about the “English Department” I would have had no qualms about helping them if Miss Ellina was still teacher advisor… but with new people in it and someone sarcastically commenting “we’ll start early this year” so gentlemen and ladies… being the sadistic man that I can be at times I’m just gonna leave them be and see how far they go… and yes, my over-creative imagination will not be put to good use for the Saint John’s Institution Drama Team this year, but that does not mean that I won’t be writing… I shall continue to write… I’m just not gonna do anything for the team this year… I shall go through the script I was sent and maybe write a review on it… but I shall NOT edit it…
“I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU SOMEHOW CONVINCED ME TO DO IT… JEAN!!!!!!!!”
That would be a rather accurate at how I reacted after I watched Gossip Girl… But yes… I do not believe how she convinced me into watching that kinda crap… seriously…. I SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE TALENT OR ABILITY TO TURN MY BRAIN OFF… How do you people watch that crap… I mean seriously… I have absolutely no tolerance towards really crappy movies/television series
Moving on…. I went to catch Uncut Untitled Paper House which in my personal opinion is retardedly awesome… oh ya… I went for it twice… during the opening night and the third night… and it was definitely worth it… special thanks to Johann for giving me complimentary ickets for the opening night :P
I’m leaving for NS on Tuesday… and my bags are indeed packed… and my room, for the first time in many years, looks retarded-ly clean…
And you wouldn’t believe what happened today… Jean’s reaction was simply
“OH MY GOD”
I was wearing a pink polo t-shirt =P
Me: Oh my god? I half expected you to swear
Jean: excuse me…
Me: well you’ve never seen me wear any other colour than black so…
Jean: Black is not a colour Izzat
Me: if you want to get technical about it
Jean: technical? That’s not being technical… it’s as it is…
(and our randomness goes on)
Why you ask? Simply because I can
Had this conversation with a certain someone ;) and it went like
“You only know like a quarter of the things to know about me”
and you know what I think
Well lets just take our time now shouldn’t we… I mean seriously… whats the rush… worst case scenario is that I drop dead all of a sudden… and I really don’t plan on doing anything like that anytime soon
You see being the genius I am I formulate theories and yes here goes mine
I do believe that the longer we take the greater the pleasure at the end of the day… lets take sex as an example…
You see the best part of making love/fornicating/fucking/humping/bonking call it what ever you want, but yes, is probably the foreplay, the whole idea of foreplay is to get there… seriously, imagine getting into the bloody room and going straight to the sex… now where is the fun in that, we need foreplay, we need to get all excited before the big thing… so yes people, take all the time you need as you are doing something regardless… it is definitely more pleasurable/enjoyable that way…
So by all means… we shall take our time and not rush this walk we share that’ll only last for a lifetime
Have yet to do anything recently except work and at times Play World of Warcraft...
Miss the time when I'd be skipping class and going for drama practices.
Miss shouting at Wai Keat for every single time he messed up and also the times when I'd shout at jim just for kicks...
Currently attempting to pen own another script, this script was an original idea I had for last years play, but I suppose we shall all see how this one turns out...
But as always before I start on a new project, I shall give the last project proper closure..
The following is the Author's Notes for KL's Best Script 2007 which was christened "Speak For Yourself" and later christened "Questionable Motives: Everyone Has A Rent To Pay"
"You have never been christened before, I don't see why you should start, it might have a bad effect on your health"
Algernon Moncrieff, The Importance of Being Earnest
I suppose getting christened twice should not be a problem...
Authour's Notes "Questionable Motive: Everyone Has A Rent To Pay"
What Put "Questionable Motives" In A League Of Its Own
As the script was written, the only thought the author had in his mind was to allow enough space for character development. Character development was not only applied to the antagonist nor the protagonist, but of every single character in the play.
An attempt to achieve this, the attention of the audience was not brought straight to the antagonist instead of the protagonist when the scene first began and that the protagonist’ lines only came in at the middle of the script, this was to allow sufficient character development of the antagonist. When you compare any other script, the attention of the audience was brought straight to the protagonist of the play and that would last all the way till the end of the play. which basically meant the obvious character development throughout the play was only a[plied on the protagonist
The author also tried to achieve this by making sure every single actor that got on the stage would have their own lines to say, that every single character that was penned down would have their own history, that everyone has their own reason for being in the scene at that very moment and that each actor had a history of their own which allowed a certain amount of depth to every single character. The lines in the play was spread evenly amongst the actors, though admittedly the hostages and the police officers did not have as many lines as the others did, but they still had their share to of the spotlight.
The author believes that a play should not only tell a single story, this is what is most commonly done, that the play would revolve on the protagonist and that the whole play would be his/her story, but in “Questionable Motives” every single character had their own story to tell, making it a layered cake giving depth to the script. The main reason in which why the author attempted this was that he wanted to discard the common look of a school play which is usually a team consisting of a group of people with single actor. this style instead allowed to show that this was a team of 15 actors working with each, which was an attempt to prove to the adjudicators, that this is indeed a team of actors who are all capable of delivering a performance and not just a team that had only a single actor in it.
Scripts would usually begin with a slow tempo where the character’s were slowly developed over the period of time, but this script began on a very intense note which was the intention of the author to grab the attention of the audience the minute the curtains opened and as well as it worked when the actors performed the piece on stage, the technique indeed worked in grabbing the attention of the audience. the challenging part was that for the author to maintain the atmosphere throughout the whole play until the piece reached its resolution and of course making room for character development and ample space to allow the intensity of the atmosphere to be felt.
Special thanks to Marvin Wong for going through and editing the script, and all the actors and those involved with the play...
But before I sign off, admit it people, you couldn’t have pulled it off without me and my pretty black pen... and face it, the three page draft passed to me was completely ripped apart and the whole story retold =P
All good things must come to an end and the same MUST be said to The Illusion It was an awesome experience working with every one who was involved with the production... I'm so going to miss growling and scaring people without even trying... it was fantastic... I will definitely come back and continue work with The Oral Stage without a doubt..
Thanks to Kelvin, I now enjoy putting on eyeliner and I am not ashamed of it
On our way to the Moon, lets hope we bump into each other
putting eyeliner on, having Ashaari painting my body... and leaving "blood" around my mouth... the awsomeness... before the poster colour dried, I accidently bumped into Matamore and stained his prettty shirt... SORRY!!! i wouldn't let anyone touch me after that... didn't wanna staqn anyone else...
I freaked 7 people without trying... I wonder if its the make up or its just too horrifying to see me make my ever so pretty face un-pretty =P
KaVee enters and the audience started laughing after a few lines... best part was, Nobody thought HE WAS EVER funny...
Quoting Kavee "A lot of parents were present today" so ya, maybe that was why the audiences were TOO supportive... hahahaha
Show was spelindid...Clindor "Mark" actually accidently hit me in the face when he was struggling in a scene... the dude is so insane when he's on stage
The curtains worked like a charm... YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!! not a single screw up...
On the way home... the most awesome thing happened... It was past midnight... I got my own train... the train actually stopped and opened ONE door for me, the pilot opened his door and asked me where i was headed and I said Ampang, so he got the train moving and sped passed all the stations seeingf as how they were all empty, it took me five minutes to travel from Masjid Jamek to Ampang...
AWESOMENESS
Hope tomorrow's show just keeps getting better and better... for any inquires with regard to the show visit The Illusion
Have NOT been free enough to blog... occupied with The Illusion... Finally finished the translation... Simply waitin for the cash to come in WhEEEEEEEEEEE~ Anyways, gotta go... call time is at six... gonna grab some dinner... *puts on drama face*
I asked Syar that as she was sending me to the station... she simply said no... We'll be using a lot of paint for your costume... So i just sat back and relaxed...
But then... waitttttt just a second... paint + fabric... that doesn't work... the only combination that mixes well is paint would be........ oh yes you've guessed it... I ain't gonna have a top for the whole entire play... Izzy's gonna be.....
Topless
Topless
Topless
Topless
Topless
So... How do i feel about it? apopearing topless in my first professional performance???
I just realised... I've done nothing but bitch about life out here... Well... too bad, cause here goes another bitching session...
*sigh*
Day started off bad enough... with all that rush and Ezzy decided to turn up late... I wasn't really angry cause we were still arrived before time at the software company... Did our Voice Over (V.O.) they said they'll send it to the client and we'll have to wait and see whether or not they like our voices... thougest part was getting there... I mean, one way travel came up to RM10, so back and forth makes it RM20, and they're paying us RM30 per page which I'd say is rather a large amount seeing as how much work we're gonna have to do...
Headed straight to KLCC after that, we both got tickets for a movie and decided to walk around before the show started, ended up going job hunting with Ezzy... we damn near asked every single shop and relised that we ARE picky when it comes to the place where we work in which is good I guess seeing as how we won't be exploited... pity Ezzy though... she got turned down at almost 99% of the stores simply cause she's on 15... I mean c'mon... she's capable of doin whatever it is needed of her... give the girl a break... movie was sweet... then we headed our seperate ways... she went for add math class and i headed to Avenue K for lunch..
Had food at Burger King, my usual and decided to get my 017 sim card replaced... YES PEOPLE YOU CAN NOW CONTACT ME AT MY 017 NUMBER AGAIN... Then I set out for the DRAM in section 17 P.J. hoping i wouldn't be late for my first day... Fisrt time appearing on a professional theatre production... I'm psyched...
Was so excited I accidently got there one hour ahead of schedule, so I went to the Food Foundry to eat more food... mind you, my last meal was a mere two hours before this, I'm so gonna end up fat... hahahahah... stayed there till Nurul turned up... worked on my translation while I waited, managed to finish quite a lot while i waited...
Then Syar turned up... Nurul was wondering bout how sometimes clothes end up on trees... I have to say... Its still on my mind... hahahaha.... then Kelvin turned up... we waited for Jason, and then had a crash course on what I'm supposed to do and my role in the play... hahaha... managed to catch up just fine *smirks*... Craziest part was when Kelvin asked to come up with a creture on the spot that lives in a graveyard... first person that came to mind was Gregory House... so i practically spent the whole rehearsal being a zombie version of House... hahaha... rehearsals went just fine for me, couple of glitches here and there but I guess I'll manage to get thru the whole production in one piece... hahahaha... meet a whole bunch of awesome people...
EZZY!!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE CAME!!! YOU'D BE HELPING SYAR RIP MY SLACKS INTO PIECES TOMORROW!!!
Went home late so Nurul decided to send me as far as she can... so she sent me to Bandaraya Station... THANKS NURUL!!!!!!!!
Station was closed when I got there... turns out they close at 2345 so I took the only option available to me... I did my usual Forest Gump thingie and ran from Bandaraya to Masjid Jamek... WHOOOT!!! Made it in record time and got hopped on the last train to ampang... hahahaha... was sooo fun
Got home exhausted as all hell... and started workin on my translation... No Rest For The Wicked... So here we go again... till later people...
*deep breath*
lol... got homework... research a proper creture... and NOT DO A GREG HOUSE TOMORROW!!!!! LOL... See ya!!!!
